First time installing Knosys?

Knosys is in early release and isn't yet signed with the developer certificates that macOS and Windows recognize by default. You may see a one-time warning when you open the installer — here's how to bypass it.

macOS

After downloading the .dmg, drag Knosys to Applications. macOS will show one of two warnings the first time you open it.

On macOS 14 and earlier, you'll see “Knosys can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.” Click OK, then right-click (or Control-click) the Knosys icon in Applications and choose Open. Click Open in the second dialog. macOS will remember this choice.

On macOS 15 (Sequoia) and later, Apple removed the right-click bypass and instead shows “Knosys is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.” The app isn't damaged — it's quarantined. Open Terminal and run:

xattr -cr /Applications/Knosys.app

Then open Knosys normally from Launchpad or Applications. You only need to do this once.

Windows
When the installer opens, Windows SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC.” Click More info, then Run anyway.
Linux
Mark the AppImage as executable (chmod +x Knosys-*.AppImage) and double-click to launch. No warnings.

Official code signing is on the roadmap — once it's in place these warnings will disappear automatically.
